So, what do you want in a book?
A world to fall in love with
Harry Potter. If you haven't read this I'm judging you so much. Still pretty much the best fantasy/magic series out there, and who doesn't want to go to Hogwarts?
Tears. Emotions. Lots of them.
Please please please read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and I assure you you won't regret it. Is it sad? Yes - but so beautifully written, I just can't even. I loved the characters, the quotes, the story the setting - which makes this book one of my new favorites. (Also try John Green's other books - they're all amazing!)
A society in which children must fight to the death in a televised contest?
Basically The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Yes, the description sounds weird - get over it. This book re-installed my love of reading big time (and due to this book I made a Twitter, which introduced me to more amazing books and friends). It's addictive, with love and a revolution, what's not to like?
The next Hunger Games
If you liked The Hunger Games and want more set-in-the-future-badass-people-love-stuff, I would highly recommend Divergent by Veronica Roth. Another divided society - this one by your characteristics (are you brave? selfless? honest?) and yes there are similarities, but I really enjoyed this book.
A love story with a twist
The Host by Stephanie Meyer, and please don't start the Twilight comparisons. Described as sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi, it's probably the most complicated love triangle ever, but I liked it. I especially liked how it was all one book so it was detailed enough and tied up really nicely.
Action packed awesomeness
Try The Mortal Insrtruments series by Cassandra Clare, it may not be for everyone but once I'd started reading it I couldn't stop. It's a bit like a television series, as there's always some drama, some plot twist and you absolutely HAVE to find out what happens next.
A book to make you think
Words cannot describe my love for Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Beautiful book, one that actually makes you think about yourself more critically, which is good I guess. The main theme of the book is death, and the whole "live every day like it's your last" thing, and I absolutely adored it.
Thanks for reading (if you actually have hahahahaha)
Katrina ♥
